📘Manual Trader Setup

All the information you need to start trading!

What is a trader and how does it work?

Trad3s is a Trading Engine (a software program) which buys and sells pockets of crypto coins, according to certain rules (called algorithms). The Trading Engine executes these orders on your behalf, in order for you to make a profit.

However, Trad3s does not manage your investment budget. We can not nor do we want to have access to it. Your investment budget is placed on a crypto exchange, managed by you. In order for our trader to work, your exchange account needs to be linked with your account with Trad3s. This is done with a so called API, an application programming interface. Through this API, our trader sends commands to the exchange and is able to recieve and process replies. Schematically it looks like this:

For this connection to work, a link must be setup once for every exchange you want to use. This requires the use of API-keys.

In order for the trader to work, one exchange connection will be enough.

In this manual won't explain setting up an account with an exchange at Binance or Bitvavo, nor how to get your personal API-keys.

How to edit an exchange connection

Connected exchanges that you have already set up can always be adjusted afterwards.

  • In the menu on the left, go to settings --> exchange connections

  • Click Edit to see the settings of the chosen exchange connection. The settings can always be adjusted.

  • Click details to see more detailed information and to delete the exchange connection in its entirety.

Pay attention! When deleting an exchange connection, all data associated with this connection is also deleted:

  • All exchange connection settings.

  • All traders who use this exchange connection and with it:

    • Entire transaction history.

    • All data on open pockets.

    • All settings of the trader(s).

An exchange connection can be restored, but removing a trader cannot be undone. Any purchased pockets from this trader will no longer be able to be sold by the trader after removal.

    • See also Trader Edit. See also Step 3 (under Status) for more information on setting up the trader to sell open pockets.

How to setup standard trader

Once the exchange connection has been made, you can start setting up traders.

  • In the menu on the left, go to settings --> traders

  • At the top right, click Add

  • You can choose to create a new blank trader or to use a template

  • Field name you enter a name of your choice for your trader

  • Dropdown exchange connection you choose a previously created exchange connection (Bitvavo or Binance in this example)

  • Choose trader type: standard (advanced and bull & bear are available in advanced and professional subscription)

  • Radio button choose whether you are going to trade with demo money or with real money

  • Dropdown coin pair you indicate with which currency you want to trade, for example BTC-EUR or ADA-EUR.

  • Field min. profit percentage you can indicate how much profit the trader must make before he can sell a purchased amount of a certain currency.

Example:

100 euros worth of BTC has been bought and you have set it to be sold at 5% profit, then you make at least 5 euros profit. The trader waits until that 5% is reached.

  • Field percentage between pockets you can indicate how much price difference there must be in % the open pockets before the trader starts buying again.

Example:

The trader has bought ADA at a price of € 1,- and you set that the difference must be 5% before new purchases are made, then the price will either have to fall to € 0.95 or rise to € 1 .05 before purchasing again.

  • Field buy size of available balance you can indicate in percentage what the size of your pockets that may be purchased. This is to prevent your entire budget from being invested at once. You can determine the percentage of the pockets yourself.

Example:

You have a free euro budget of €250 on the exchange and you have set the pocket size to be 25%. 25% of €250 is a first pocket of €62.50. The remaining euro balance is then €187.50 and 25% of that is €46.88 so that is your second pocket. And so on.

  • Field amount to buy per transaction you can specify a fixed amount per pocket.

Example:

You enter 50. All pockets that are then bought will never be larger or smaller than 50 euros. If you use this setting, the pocket percentage from the previous step will be overruled if you enter both.

  • At max open pockets you can indicate how many open purchases there may be for that specific trader.

Example:

You enter 10. The moment there are 10 open pockets for that trader, the trader stops buying. Only when open pockets from that trader have been sold, the trader will make new purchases.

  • At max amount on open pockets you determine how much of your available Iable euro budget on the exchange that trader can use to trade with.

Example:

Your free balance on the exchange is €1000 and you have two traders with whom you want to trade with a maximum of €300 for both, then enter 300. The trader will then never trade with more than €300 in that trader. In this example, a maximum of €600 will be deposited over the two traders and €400 will always remain free on the exchange.

  • At default transaction payment method you can indicate how you want to pay the fee to Trad3s.

  • At status you can choose to enable or disable a trader, or enable - buy hold to sell only. In that case, that trader will no longer buy anything and will only sell the open pockets of that trader.

  • At advanced you can choose to pay your exchange fees in BNB. This only applies to the Binance exchange. You also need to enable this feature in your Binance account.

  • When you have entered everything as desired, click on submit at the bottom left.

When you go back to your dashboard you will see the exchange wallet at the bottom. Here you can see how much euro is still available and how much crypto has been purchased on the various coin pairs. In this case you see EURO/BTC.
